When a local benefactor offered the majority of funding to Overton County, the Library Board's long awaited dream of a new library became a reality. With private, local and state funding a $1.25 million project budget was in place. Overton County and the City of Livingston acquired a corner off the Courthouse Square knowing this facility would be a core community facility. Architecturally the Library was design to compliment adjacent building styles and to present the entrance to the Square. Civic organizations adopted the facility and decorated inside and out with the pride they held for their beloved Library. Classically styled and modernly appointed, the spaces see frequent use by clients that finally have a sizable library with adequate parking.
